Mandela Month (July)

It's like you wake up expecting the worst when you have no idea how good it could turn out.
You always encountering unnecessary battles with yourself really, because you aren't satisfied. Does it ever occur to you that out there, someone went to bed hungry? That someone, probably doesn't even have a bed and yet you complain daily with no thought of those who are far worse than you?

Yesterday (being the 18th of July) marked the annual, Nelson Mandela Day across the world. For 67minutes you had to give a helping hand towards a person or charity of your choice.

Although a lot of people did their part, there were others who felt it unnecessary to do much and also those who used the day as an opportunity to launch their self proclaimed ideas of the day. Your 67 hugs, songs, twitter followers, you name it! All of these were not so much contributing to those in need but in all honesty, a lot of thought was put into these ideas and it was heartfelt to see many take part in what they reckon is Nleson Mnadela Day.

So much can could of of been done but one can only do so much in just 24hours. Though i think people should take the initiative to help out each day of their when they have free time to do so. Nelson Mandela Day shouldn't be the only day that people feel the necessity to aid others and worthy organizations. A thumbs to everyone who participated, including me who had over 67 hugs given and received, gave my my 67minutes to Hope Children centre in my residential area at the moment and those who gave a thought to iconic, former South African president, Nelson Mandela.

Happy Belated Birthday Mr Mnadela, we wish you a speedy recovery and may all your dreams and those of whom love you come true.
