Mandela Month (July)

It's like you wake up expecting the worst when you have no idea how good it could turn out.
You always encountering unnecessary battles with yourself really, because you aren't satisfied. Does it ever occur to you that out there, someone went to bed hungry? That someone, probably doesn't even have a bed and yet you complain daily with no thought of those who are far worse than you?

Yesterday (being the 18th of July) marked the annual, Nelson Mandela Day across the world. For 67minutes you had to give a helping hand towards a person or charity of your choice.

Although a lot of people did their part, there were others who felt it unnecessary to do much and also those who used the day as an opportunity to launch their self proclaimed ideas of the day. Your 67 hugs, songs, twitter followers, you name it! All of these were not so much contributing to those in need but in all honesty, a lot of thought was put into these ideas and it was heartfelt to see many take part in what they reckon is Nleson Mnadela Day.

So much can could of of been done but one can only do so much in just 24hours. Though i think people should take the initiative to help out each day of their when they have free time to do so. Nelson Mandela Day shouldn't be the only day that people feel the necessity to aid others and worthy organizations. A thumbs to everyone who participated, including me who had over 67 hugs given and received, gave my my 67minutes to Hope Children centre in my residential area at the moment and those who gave a thought to iconic, former South African president, Nelson Mandela.

Happy Belated Birthday Mr Mnadela, we wish you a speedy recovery and may all your dreams and those of whom love you come true.

Its About Time

Work for a cause and not for applause.
Live to express and not impress.
Don't strive to make your presence noticed, just make your absence felt.
Constantly we always looking for approval from the next person forgetting that we are in fact individuals, with individualistic personalities. people fall in love with the real you and only with the fake you if you are exactly like the,m. I ask the question why do you feel the need to stand out when you were obviously born to stand out. There really is more to life than looking Miss Two Cents around the corner and to be honest stupidity has no cure, so be sure you make the right decision about your life and the people in it... https://twitter.com/ReaJile

Money Talks

Ever had the feeling that you are in fact losing it??? To be honest I have been feeling like this for a couple of days and the main reason is money. I think of money in so many aspects of life, that frankly I can't make sense of anything else anymore. I am constantly wondering and infatuated that my body goes into freeze mode when I am left with little or no money at all. I just want to be able to breathe, strecth, shake and let it go because money may be the death of me... Though I have heard that people who obsess over the thought of having or owning something will in fact have it... The thought of me being rich is just too amazing...

Signing in...

Journalism in South Africa has grown over the last few years and in fact regarding careers today, journalism has offered a range of options. We now look at how online has turned from the devil to the most adored angel. I learnt quite a lot whilst browsing the different news sites, the structure, the different sections as they would have in print and history of all the sites featured in my report.
They are working around the old and new technology, to bring us news online and journalists also look at the broad spectrum as to how they ought to conduct their articles, photographs and more. I chose The Citizen, News24 and Mail&Guardian to research.
Firstly, The Citizen is a tabloid newspaper that appeals to the social broads of Gauteng, circulating daily. Going through their website, http://www.citizen.co.za/citizen/content/en/citizen/home it showed news of which they thought to be of public interest. With that in mind the story that reeled me was in fact about Oscar Pistorius’ case. The fact that they allow the public to comment or suggest is also a good thing, it is more of like interacting with the target market.
Second is News24 with the slogan, “Breaking News First” and does in fact do just that in the most innovative form. They have taken the initiative to “break news first” using the most infectious social networks of all and since I am a twitter fanatic, it is quite convenient that they have a twitter handle. http://www.news24.com/  There is also an option to watch videos of current affairs, in and around the world.
Last is Mail&Guardian and before it only appealed to the upper and working class, but with the internet that has changed. It has given everyone a chance to get the news without having to dig into their pockets. http://mg.co.za/page/about-us/  Though revenue is not quite as much regarding, Mail&Guardian has the internet gaining them much more momentum.
In each one the different sections were there to choose from. The structures were different as each news site has a specific clientele they would like to appease. The use of social networks is also a great initiative to get the youth to read more about what is affecting and infecting them as, besides disease. In my view with this assignment I do feel that journalism is in fact growing rather than dying.

It's in the photograph

I'm thinking of sharing my ideas via pictures because as we all know a picture tells a thousand words. I am a visual person and even the slightest things speak to me, in such a sense that they explain how I am feeling on a particular day... I want to show the love I have for capturing life's precious and unexpected moments so that I have more of a story to tell when I leave this place... Here is to making memories...https://twitter.com/reajile

The return of Loserville

Good Day beautiful people.... It has been long and I must say with this year things should be different. I am looking at things from a different point of view and well found love in the most unsual places. Growing up is quite the milestone but for me it is actually more than that, it is showing life that if given the chance I can become the unexpected, unheard of yet intriguing, amazing beyond measure and simply unique. I am going to make this year count for real...

CRUNCH TIME

I have this thing I call, "STUDY" but because of life as a whole, I am not ready to do so. Studying is for the main purpose of passing your subjects, in order to move on to the next year. Right now I am at a point where the 14th of November feels like is coming too fast and I have not even wrapped my head around conjunctions, Apartheid, capturing photographs, elemente van 'n koerant, communication and well what I mean is that I have not started to study. As much as I should, life has a way of deciding for me and that I have to change. Changing would mean cutting off my phone and concentrate on what is more important. Since my birthday has passed, there really is nothing else I should forward to either than completing tthis year with adeqquate marks...
#GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS TO EVERYONE WHO IS WRITING...
